Unfortunately, these aren't good PSUs at all. They have a pretty face, but that's about where it ends. :/

The PSU is the most important part of a system; it's the foundation. This is because the entire system is depending on it to provide clean and stable power, and I think that these 3 Raidmax PSUs won't be any better than what you have now (possibly worse even though they're prettier).

So I recommend this PSU:

The 520W SeaSonic M12II for $89.99 (it's modular)

However, here's a partially modular PSU that's a little bit better in quality for $79.99 shipped:

The 650W Antec TruePower New

No on all counts. Avoid Raidmax as a brand.
Considering your computer would run on a good 300W, there are no modular PSUs in that wattage range. Your cheapest options are probably the OCZ Fatal1ty 550W or the OCZ ModXStream 500W. Not bad units, good prices.

here the corsair cx500

http://promotions.newegg.com/neemail...er-_-ClickHere

heres a the thread on OCN with the promo code

http://www.overclock.net/online-deal...hour-sale.html

this thing is only a 500w but it is quiet, runs cool, has enough power for what you need, and has an awesome amperage. AND its only $30 after MIR.

I own the 600watt versions. and I can attest to everything I stated about this PSU previously.

I simply love my corsair. you should get one too, cuz you will love. and if you dont. you can always resell it in the OCN marketplace for $30 and recoup your losses if you ever want to get a better PSU in the future.

Definitely do not go raidmax. No, no, no.

I feel like an XFX salesman with how much I recommend these PSUs, but... oh well.

It's overkill for your system, but the price is hard to beat:

XFX has been showing that their line of PSUs are quality, and this is the lowest level available that is modular (it's pseudo-modular I believe, but close).

This.

If I remember correctly, then I think I remember reading somewhere here on OCN that this unit is basically the same inside as Corsair's HX650.

I love the truepower series, but the pricing is totally ******ed for whatever reason. The 550W is priced higher than the 650W? Weirdness, but that's the only reason I don't recommend them to people, sweet PSUs, suffering from a messed up pricing point.

This is a very recent thing. They're still good power supplies, except it's no longer worth recommending the 550W model due to the price.

I wonder if this is partly due to the ever increasing demand of PSUs 650W and over.

The pricing of the 650w/750w TP's are fine, it's just the 550w one.
