So, if you take a look at this thread:

As soon as the video cards engaged, boom. System shut down. I had to unplug the computer for 30 seconds before it would let me turn it on. This happens whenever I seem to use "too much power". All temperatures were normal. I'm not overheating.

I can also no longer overclock my video cards. I used to be able to set my one card to max overclock, but as soon as I hooked up some more case fans, I can no longer get my card stable past 650 core.

I think my power supply isn't powerful enough :/. Anyway I could know? I'll post a link of it for you guys.

So it's either my motherboard or powersupply.

You'll see that I'm in dire need of a power supply that'll suit my needs. It needs to be able to power the 125 watt phenom, and overclock it well. Plus 2 4850's.

I was thinking either the OCZ 700 watt

or the corsair 750 watt:

Our fellow OC member, logan, offered a wonderful bit of advice on psu's:

Many times a PSU is "rated" for a large amount of watts, but that doesn't mean that it has enough amperage to drive everything. That is my guess here because both the CPU and the GPU's run off of the 12v rails, and if they're pulling max power draw, they are apparently eating up all of that amperage (regardless of whether or not the PSU is putting out the full 800watts that its rated for).

I don't know the amperage draw for a 4850 off the top of my head, but I do know that the 9800GT that I just ordered suggested a PSU that had 26-28amps (so they said a min of a 400w, and a 550watt was recommended, which makes sense, since many 400w PSUs only have 20 something amps. I'm lucky that mine has 34). So its easy to imagine how the 2 4850s your using could be using around 40amps, which when combined with your 9950, is overloading your PSU.

So, to reiterate, Amperage is just as important as wattage (if not more so), the higher the efficiency rating the better (usually indicates good build quality, not to mention that it saves you money), & in general, stick to a brand that is well known, rather than risk your hardware with something that is "less than adequate".

I'd suggest a new PSU, I think that will clear everything right up, as right now your symptoms are classic.

Good luck

EDIT:
Achilee5

That is normal, but not good, because it can corrupt the HDDs. Try to lock that frequency to 100, and if you can't do that, see if there is a divider to lower that (like changing the ram speed setting, some mobos use a divider for their PCI-E speed, so look for that).

and I was wondering if anyone could expand on that and suggest other power supplies, or a really good one.

Go with the Corsair 750w.
Look at this PSU, if you want more choices, but of the two you have linked, go with the Corsair:

Like pioneerisloud suggested, go for the Corsair TX750. This psu has more then enough watts and amps to power your setup.

Spot on, a must.

Now, between the corsair and the PC POwer and Cooling PSU, which is better and why?

And why not the OCZ?

I'm just curious. I don't know anything about PSUs.

They are both pretty much the same PSU. Both are 80+ certified, both have 60a on a single 12v rail, both are 750w, both are VERY respectable brands.

Honestly, for all you know the Corsair MAY even be made by PC Power & Cooling.

I'd go with the Corsair, its a little bit less money out of pocket. They're the exact same PSU anyway.
