The answer lies in the bios.

Anyway, welcome to oc.net.

We can help you better if you fill out your rig specs:

Atop the page, click on "UserCP".
Click on "Edit System" on the left column. Fill in specs.
This will be your post shadow. Take a minute to do it.
We can then help troubleshoot your issues.

Sounds like your bios settings are mixed incorrectly.

Sounds more like spyware to me. No way would a computer be "lagging" with a Q9550 - even on stock - and 4GB of 800MHz.

Quick solution: Reformat.

There is a few possibility. It's probably a spyware, but it can be also a trojan, worm or a malware. Any unknown processes running?

Majestic please add your system in your User Control Panel, and not in your signature. It will be easier for us to look that way because we wont know that the rig in your signature is your rig. On stock speeds your computer wont be laggy unless you have overclocked it and do not have the correct voltages set for the overclock. I second the spyware/malware issue. Get you a good antivirus/spyware checker and run it, I personally recommend eset nod32, it has been the best for me. Also doing a disk cleanup and a disk defragmentation will also help the issue as well. Please keep us informed on this issue.
