I like the idea and would like to propose an addition to make it just a reviews section in general with hardware, software and games reviews as subcategories within. It would really help to cut down on (new) news that gets pushed back from the overkill of reviews posted when something popular like GFX cards are released. This is not to say that I believe that these categories put the threads in their proper place (ie. I'm not going to argue what belongs where), it is just an idea to add to the OP to help clean/organize things a bit more.
I propose a dedicated "Video Games Review" section for the news.
