I think my 8800 just fried

I just recently got the new rig in my sig. About 2-3 weeks ago. Everything has played great up until earlier today. I'm in a CoD4 game and the game pauses up and there's like bright purple and green lines on the screen, so i reboot and and my system boots into like 640x800 screen resolution with the same little purple and green lines up and down the screen, so i uninstall the drivers and reinstall nvidia drivers, nothing changed after the reboot.

In my devices when i click on 8800GTS it says device could not start, although the fan is on and i'm seeing a display idk what is going on. I took it out and put it back in along with the pci-e power plug and that did nothing as well.

I put an old 7800GT in for now until i can try it out in another computer but it's pretty clear something is wrong with the card.

Its an evga, if you have lifetime warenty, rma it. Not worth your trouble.

where can i find the part number on the card itself?
i have this thing for 2 years, it doesn't make sense that it would go out now.
You never know when pc things go. Ive had stuff break out of no where too.
Maybe you will get something better than an 8800gts if you rma it, since they probably don't make them anymore.

yea i've had this card for about 2 years, never registered it, which means it only gets a 1 yr warranty. oh well

ouch man...I have a card for cheap if you want something better than that 7series card. PM Me if you are interested. (don't have enough rep to list a for sale thread). It's a PNY GeForce 9600 GSO 768mb. It overclocks to 750/1750/950 stable in ati tool, crysis, folding, etc.

sounds like artifacts what are your temps?
Hey, my whole computer fried once after an OC my GPU for an hour or so (and apparently my PSU wasn't happy about it). Good luck with your RMA.

I think that sucks worse than just the video card going out... Crap, my condolences...
