i think my cpu just went dead

hey ppl i could use some advice on this one.

i started tweaking with cpu over clocking on my new system.
i was using my cpu at 4Ghz (base clock is 3.3Ghz) on 20-30 degrees (all in all very stable) mem at base speed 1066mhz.
so i decided i could add at least 500mhz more
so i went on and changed that in the bios to 4.5Ghz and high mem speed (dont remember how much)
after seeing tweaches at post screen i did lower it to 4.44Ghz and mem speed to 1183mhz.
since my ram speed on the 4gigz config was the normal mam speed i figured id just try and use it at 1183mhz.

ive inputed 1.35V for cpu voltage and rebooted
it booted and i started stressing with Pi and after 11sec
result on the 1M test ,i went on to 8M to do more stress tests.
it stuck on 3rd loop or so and rebooted but never loaded post screen.

i thought mayb my mem sticks got fried or smt, so i changed them but still no load.
i really thought my pc could be much OCed than this
(READ THE TOS)

do you think i really fried my cpu or mobo?
btw - i do remember the temp during Pi test was about 40-50 on 4.44Ghz config

did u reset cmos? see if it will boot at stock
i didnt had the chance to properly investigate.
i did however tried to boot using my 2nd bios by changing
jumpers (i had 2 bioses on my mobo how cool is that) lol
anyways it didnt boot.

and when i mean boot i mean not even post screen.

I think you should read FAQ...

And... dual BIOS isn't for overclocking...it's protection if you flash bad version, or against viruses...
mr. biggums mentions cmos.
You should reset CMOS, it's means "Reset CMOS memory holding your BIOS settings"

i just figured if i had my 1st bios on bad settings
than the 2nd one might be of help on some degree
ill try reseting the cmos asap and post the result here
So you thought that 4.5Ghz would just be a stroll in the park? I assume you are using a better cooler than what came in your processor's box...
Swap out with another processor, problem solved.
you never go imidetly to that high frequency!!!!

step by step and no just up to 4.5ghz

what is excatly hapenning??
try reseting cmos but not with jumpers pull out battery
im using a zalman cooling and my cpu temp was 20 on 4Ghz
it wasnt a stroll in the park, i thought it would be able to take it
its only 35% OC
i bought a mobo with about 1kg of copper just for OC reasons
ill try what you guys suggested and get back to you

"my cpu temp was 20 on 4Ghz" I don't think so...
Use coretemp http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
run IntelBurnTest a show us real temperatures

exactly. 4ghz is usually quite easy to figure out and make stable, (personnaly went for cooler 3.8 for 24/7 use.)

On the other hand, anything over 4ghz (even the slightest ghz is quite a hassle to make stable within decent temps.

That's what i got to learn from my experiences so far atleast. (Wich is not impressive in any ways)
