Hey guys! I have a couple issues with my setup right now.
I am running

core i5-2300 Stock cooler, properly re-applied thermal compound
4g ram
msi H61MU-E35 motherboard
Nvidia 8800 GTS 320mb graphics card
stock 500W power supply
two rear fans, one side fan
windows 64 bit

First of all, when I play games with graphical intensity (starcraft, crysis), my computer simply reboots. No blue screen no nothing. I logged my processor temps and they nominal during these situations. This occurs during situations of graphical intensity,
HOWEVER- the same graphics card was able to handle even higher loads on my previous machine.

Secondly, I have done a few Prime95 torture tests on the processor. And it reaches 75+ degrees celcius after 3 cycles of Prime95. Now I have read about other benchmarked 2300s with stock coolers going nowhere near this in that amount of time. I am just wondering if there is something wrong with my processor.

Anyways, thank you for reading and perhaps I won't have to resort to reformatting.

It might be the PSU. The wattage is fine but because of the brand it's not reliable at all.

Thanks, I will try out a different PSU, a little while ago we had a series of power outages at my house, the computer was connected to a surge protector, but it may have had an effect.
