It shouldn't be the vtt (imc) you're only running 4gb ram (2x2 I'm assuming), if anythign that's a bit higher than you'd need.
You've got all power saving features etc disabled I'll presume?
EDIT:
Just took a look at your board; you've only got a 4-pin CPU header and no VRM cooling there whatsoever (not a lot of phases either).
I wouldn't beat on that too much (it's not really a great OCing board and you could fry it); also likely why you're requiring so much voltage on the chip.
It's nearly impossible to "fry" a cpu since 2004 lol, the only way you could manage that is if you're using extreme cooling since the comp would auto shutdown (due to high temps) long before any damage could occur.
What does the CPU header have to do with anything?? The fan will run at 100% no matter what, this would only hinder his ability to control it. My 1156 rig uses a $38 biostar t55hd and overclocks 4.2 stable 24/7. Considering the 22x multi (24-25 turbo), most 1156 mobos are capable of pushing an i5 760 provided they have decent voltage control (if not you can still get 3.6-8 with small voltage boost).
Anyway.. Your problem may be cooling as overheating usually results in an abrupt shutdown rather than bsod. It normally wouldn't be an issue but the stock hsf for the 760 is abysmal, however 1.37 and 10 minutes of prime95 isn't too much so you should also check your vtt voltage and maybe bump the vcore as some chips require 1.4+ for 4 ghz stable.
