Sorry i am new to all of this ...

Ok bought my cooler on stock clocks its like 23-28idle with fan on auto.. I can change this on the fob though to max fan speed etc etc ....

Now i have good air cooling i am looking to overclock my 920. Does anyone if my board can auto overclock it bios? As this seems the only way for me as i dont know how to overclock....

How easy is it to overclock the i7 to 4.0ghz? do you have to change alot of things other than the vcore? Any guides up anywere? Cheers

Hmmm i will read through and look into it more i think ... it not just a case of changing 3 things in AI tweaker and off you go then lol? Seems alot of settings you need to change around
Yes there is a few things to look at, but when you do a bit of research, this chip is quite easy to overclock.

I still consider myself a "junior" overclocker, but i've been reading a lot of stuff about it and i'm getting better, and i like it.

Best way to learn is to read and post on forums like this one.

This forums is great for OC info.
Assuming its a D0 i7 920?

Here are bios shots from my P6T Deluxe that will get you to 4ghz fairly easily.

The only one you may need to change is cpu voltage (you may need more, every chip is different)

Right someone i know has told me a little cheat all i needed to do is change bclk to 200 and the motherboard did everything itself now currently its this...

I am abit worried about the volts as i feel there high at 1.41 for 4.0Ghz or are they ok?

My temps are fine to say its really hot in my room right now ( not normally at all this hot)

While some i7s will do better then that it varies from chip to chip, 1.41 is fine.

1.41 is a bit high, with a D0 you probably don't need more than 1.35 tops. Plus leaving everything on auto lets your mobo adjust the voltages at all times, can sometimes result in overvolting.

Oh right i thought intel said 1.4vcore was fine... i mean my temps are good idle at 35 right now.... Just ram prime95 on max heat and max load and my temps were the highest 78 lol!

HEEEEELLLLPPPPP!

Right ok guys need some help ... I was playing css for ages about 2 hours... I have just ran prime 95 i passed the 1st test the 1024k one then it blue screened on the 2nd test. In total i left prime 95 running around 25-30mins.

My current settings are bclk 211 and everything else is AUTO

Vcore is on auto but sets itself to 1.42 which is high really but must not still be enough :s ...

What else can i do with the settings to make it stable?

My temps under 100% load on prime 95 never went over 80oc
