One of my systems has the following components :

Quote:

MOBO: Gigabyte U3DR
CPU: I7 [email protected] 3.7 GHz
COOLER: Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 + AS5
RAM : 6GB TRI KIT G-SKILL DDR3 CL7
Video: CrossFireX XFX ATI 4890 XXX 1GB DDR5 GPU: 1 GHz / MEM: 4 GHz
HDD: 1 * 500GB WD Caviar+RAID 0 2 * 1 TB SAMSUNG SPINPOINT
Optical: Sony Optiarc Labelflash
Audio : X-FI TITANIUM
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-750TX
Case: Antec 902

I want to break the 25000 mark in Vantage and my overclock holds me back. Taking the processor to 4.0 GHz is very easy but when taking it past that frequency things get annoying. I know it is not the best revision out there but maybe someone can shed some light on how to find the sweetspot. After hours of tweaking I managed to clock it at 4.1 and it was stable. Unfortunately, I had 1.4 on CPU and this is worrying me. If I wanna get passed that frequency, I need higher and this will kill my CPU
. Any thoughts on how to get a stable overclock? I will delete all my overclocking profiles from BIOS and start from scratch.

Any suggestion is more than welcome.

Water.

For long term use I wouldn't take it past 1.35V, but for short runs you ought to be OK up to 1.45 or so.
ddr3 1333? bleh

how are your temps at that voltage?
Cheers for the help lads. Will read that guide again. Maybe I missed something the first few times.

I won't jump to any conclusions but ... some people might find that comment rude and disrespectful. Prove me right and explain why was there a need for a remark like that?

My OP starts with ..."One of my systems...". Moreover, I quote the whole system so people know what and where ...
