hey does anyone know if the 930 can get a 23x multiplier if turbo mode is enabled?

because I know the default is 22x and turbo mode usually adds another...

Yes you can.

However, it only kicks the first core to 23x like the 920 kicks the first core to 22x when needed.

so there is no turbo boost stuff? Because on the 920, the default was 20 and you could use turbo and put 21 on all cores. Is it not possible to do the same with the 930's 22x default?

Normal CPU multi for the 920 is 20x. Turbo kicks it up to 21x.

BIOS updates allowed for a constant 21x multi on the 920 - I'm guessing it will be the same eventually (if not already) for the 930.

But, I notice on the Intel website here, that the i7-930 runs at 2.8GHz in standard mode and 3.06GHz in turbo mode.

21 x 133 = 2.8GHz
22 x 133 = 2.93GHz
23 x 133 = 3.06GHz

I'm confused...

OK, cool, thanks. So say if I overclocked a i7-930 to a BCLK of 200 and leave Turbo Boost enabled. Will Turbo Boost utilise the 23x multiplier on a single core while overclocked?

21 x 200 = 4.2GHz (All cores)
22 x 200 = 4.4GHz (2/4 cores)
23 x 200 = 4.6GHz? (Single core)

no

21 on all cores
22 on all cores
23 on a single core if all other cores are not active
