If you can get them for cheaper, one of these one be great:

If not, that Gigabyte looks pretty good, but I haven't heard much about it.
EVGA X58. Same as the one for 299 except warranty is 2 years. Comes out to be 249 after 20$ MIB
is the UD5 worth the extra $30 if I am only going to quad sli ?

Yes. Look at the cooling component.

the ud4p runs its pcie like this

x16
x16 + x16
x16 +x8 +x8

so if you are going to run 3 cards ud4 is probably not the choice (even though you probably couldnt detect the difference) otherwise its an awesome board, I have no complaints

er maybe im a bit behind the times here but quad sli with only 3 avaliable pci-e slots?

pretty sure you need the evga "classified" board, if it is still classified, to do quad sli?

I own the evga board linked above, and i am very happy with it. I believe it will do trisli in a x16 x16 x8 config but i have not purchased extra cards yet.

It blocks one of the pci-e x1 slots if am not mistaken and I need that for a tv tuner that I already have which is pci-e x1

also while am at it would the XIGMATEK Dark Knight be suffiecent in cooling the 920 at say 3.6~3.8ghz ? if not would the v8 be much of a diffrence ?

He meant quad sli as in 2 dual GPU cards, like the GTX295 or 9800GX2

Quad sli is sli-ing 2 video cards that each have 2 gpu's, such as the gtx295 or the 9800gx2.

ok. The XIGMATEK Dark Knight is fine. If you need tri sli board, you need UD5. See wimcle's post above.

so if I don't need tri sli and need the pci-e x1 for tv tuner. The ud4p would be my best choice. And the xigmatek like does it compete with the cooler master V8 ?

UD4P is a good choise in this case and Xigmatek is slightly better than V8.
