That's one thing I've never seen before, nice idea mate!
Nice work man.

I'm curious as to what your temperatures were for this?

Between -5 and 0.C. Then after 1 hr 5.C. 2hrs 10C.

Ha nice mate. I just got the chip today. Not tried on normal WC. I did try this on a 235e chip earlier and could bench 300mhz higher with Ice.

Wow, just regular ice?

That's awesome.

I want to see what you can do with dry ice, or something that can be cooled way below zero.

You should look into the freezing point of something like baby oil.

Edit: Mineral/baby oil freezes at -30c. If you got a bowl of that in a freezer, you've got some good temps there.

OOhh Nice results there. I really have to try this!!, just regular ice aye?? Im shall try this on my quad and see what temps i get and how high i can get it!.
I wanna try this when I get my liquid cooling! Awesome idea for those of us with no DICE/LN2 pots.
What were your maxes with ambient temp water?
Sorry i don't quite understand? You mean temps while i was pushing for those clocks? If so, 0.C to 5.C
I mean max clocks under traditional liquid cooling.
The 545 around 4300Mhz, and the 250 was 4200ish, give or take.
300MHz for -30ºC, so that should mean an extra 10MHz for every 1ºC cooler, very nice scaling. That processor would be awesome under DICE I suspect (although I think you'd eventually hit a wall).
The board i have has been used by others using LN2 and DICE. As far as 480 on the BUS, so the board shouldn't hit a wall, chip maybe. I'll trying DICE after Xmas hopefully.
what you guys SHOULD do, is pour a TON of salt into that ice water, and mix it up good. Salt lowers the freezing temp and it should drop the water temp REALLY low (let's put it like this, you can chill room temp beer in a salt water solution, to somewhere in the low 40's to high 30's in just a few minutes)
