i'd like to try folding for a bit

there was a call for help in the nvidia forum yesterday asking for spare 8800GT's to fold. i think i'd like to help out. it's also cold in my room, so if i can warm it up that'll be cool

how do i set up GPU folding for windows 7 and windows vista? any tips, info i can use to get up and running? and also, will folding boost my electric bill a lot? at the moment my pc is on 10-15 hours a day... this is my main concern. if it doesn't work out to be too high then i'll hopefully be able to fold daily...

Download the fourth one on the page. The only one with the Vista logo. I do not know if it will work on Windows 7 though.

Kinda of just worked for me.. try running it in compatibility mode for vista and run as administrator.

Do a forum search for cudart.dll. You can download it and drop it in your you folder. I'll find it and bump it up for you, no cut and paste sorry.

Definitely update your Nvidia drivers to the latest WHQL. It is the 182.08 ATM.
Also, I am not sure if this works in Win7, but I use these to run my GPUs - http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...2-without.html
Just be sure to change the username, otherwise nafljhy will get all your points, and he doesn't need any help

Yes they do and you have a really good one!
ok... i'm having issues now

folding works fine when i'm watching movies, using the web, etc, but when i try to game it doesn't work so well. L4D is laggy now, and when i tried firing up E:TW, as soon as i got to the campaign map the game lockecd up and the comp reset. never happens so i'm sure the GPU couldn't take it.

any way i can give the GPU more room to do all the things i need it to or should i just set up my Q6600 to fold on 2 cores?
