Hey Guys,

In a few days I will be ordering my Thermaltake Armour Extreme Edition and I have got tired of my green cathodes in my case.

I was looking at case mods to try and get some ideas and I have decided I want this colour scheme.

Red & Black = MMmmmMMMmmM

So I need some ideas for this. I plan on sleeving all the wires in the case with black sleeving to go with my PSU

Cooling

  • 3x Xilence XPF120R Red Wing 120mm's
  • 1x Xilence XPF92R Red Wing 92mm
Cable Management

  • 2x Cable Ties Red Pack of 10
  • Misc Lengths and sizes of Techflex F6 PET Sleeving

Lighting

2x 12cm Akasa Cathode Red

This is all I have thought of just now.

What else could I do (I am not going to be doing hardware mods as I will break something)

This is the main layout I'm going for lighing wise

Thanks Guys

What about doing the UV Motherboard trick (the one you use a UV pen to paint the motherboard components) and painting that Northbridge red?

Nice mod, and I'll personally follow it.

What type of cooling are you using? If you are using air you could go for this to get the same effect:

Black and Red.

Black and Red.

I was thinking of the 9700NT for the CPU.

Will that do well for my E6600?

That is a very sexy cooler my friend.

Should do well and it will match the color scheme nicely. I think the LED is green though, just an FYI.

yeah, but it will limit your OC headroom... You could just get a TT120 and put two more of those red fans on either side of it...

Oh, green........How easy would it be to mod a red LED into it?

Any link to this? I might want to do this to my next build if it's easy enough...

another red and black case for the world? heh, i keed i keed XD.

well, not much to go by that you haven't already thought about if you aren't gonna hardware mod.
but... i have been looking at these to highlight the center of a 250mm fan. you may be able to stick it on the backend of some fan motors and have a nice light flare behind a fan.
i like what endo did to his armor. he sprayed his mesh chrome and now i really want to do that, just to match my dvd drives. check out his thread.

so yeah, you can do red instead of chrome.

I've never tried to mod a Zalman fan before. I can't imagine its terribly hard, but search around other forums. Someone has had to have done it before.

Best of luck Mad!

I cant find anyone with it so If I pulled it off then I would be the first maybe

If I didnt swap it I could always just take the green LED off it.........That should be simple.

Looks like the LED is just behind the fan

Well... why don't you just keep your BT and get a red fan on it?

You just need to use the s939 H bracket and 4 screws in the s775 position. I asked about it a few days ago, I'll link you to the thread.
