Ok so my pc is prime stable but I seem to crash while my cpu is idle. I can play games for hours and be fine but if i go to sleep i'll wake up to a bsod (124) or if i'm just using firefox I can BSOD. It's really annoying, anyone have any info or tips on this problem?

Is there a downclock mode on the SB chips? If so, disable it.

That might be a necessary sacrifice.

He's probably right - this sounds like a problem with the way your cpu draws power from elevating states, or a problem with how the mobo supplies power.

It won't get that much hotter with the downclocking disabled anyway

I know on my Phenom at 3.8 GHz Cool & Quiet causes failure. Disabling led to immediate success.

All of that crap is turned on. I'm pretty sure I can fix it by increasing voltage but I rather find some other option to mess with that might help. I really don't want to increase voltage anymore if I can help it.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.
If you want to use offset voltages, you're going to have to deal with BSOD at idle. Offset voltages get very unreliable when you start needing 1.4v at load. Or you're going to have to increase the voltage by a lot.

Either lower your overclock, or use a fixed voltage with speedstep. It's just how it goes man...
