What is your voltage and what are your temps? On stock cooling I got my Venice to 2.75 GHz on a suicide shot. You can up the voltage very slightly. Instead of 1.45, try 1.425 with a 3.3% increase, or whatever makes it just barely over 1.45

I went from voltage of 1.45 to like 1.456 with adjusting the CPU Vid and overvolting by percentage from there. That shouldn't increase temps TOO much.

Dunno where all these nay-sayers get their ideas from... I can plug the same AMD processor in 3 different boards, all at stock settings, and get 3 different readings (albeit microscopically close) and most times, the stock settings will be that microscopic amount below the actual 2 GHz or 1.8 GHz AMD claims.

I say you got 3 GHz. Good job!

Very true. Getting that on stock cooling is utterly amazing. Get some Zalman RAMsinks, a Scythe Infinity or a Big Typhoon VX, and shoot for 3.5 GHz. You may not reach it, but best to aim high, right?

go to a pharmacy or a chemical store of somekind, get some dry ice, put it in front of all the intakes of your rig, put a brick of dry ice on top of your CPU's heatsink, wait for it to cool, and then get that 3GHz you're looking for !!!

It'll never be the same dude...trust me
The thermal pad that came on my 754 socket kept it low...I scraped it off like a fool listening to people...and haven't hit 2.8 yet with everything else I've tried...
And AS5 isn't all that BEAST for real...

I have 60C on load, OCed at 10% (=3.30Ghz)
So I doubt there's too much to be worried about...
