Hi guys,

I think alot about which games I would love to see.....and I was curious what game you would see greenlit if you had such godlike powers? hehe. Like you could take any team, resources, etc.. Could be a wholly original game, a sequel, remake, etc.. for whatever platform you like.

Personally at the moment I'd take Hidetaka Miyazaki and let him make an rpg about whatever he would like to, give him full creative control and have at it. I really dig dark souls and demon's souls.

a runner up would be a side scrolling mario bros game with the depth and difficulty of mario bros 1 & 3 but beautiful hand drawn graphics, no nonsense!

I would have the Blizzard staff create an MMORPG that is not quite as noob friendly as WoW as well as encompassing all the new ideas that other MMO's have been using. Basically it would be:

Skill based combat instead of gear/level based. A group of 4 of the best players should be able to beat 7-8 good players and 10-11 average players. Isn't possible in WoW because of gear and the ease of playing characters to their full potential. Where positioning, knowledge of your class and theirs, when you use an ability, and communication mean more than gear.

Real character customization for the player. If I want to put points into intellect as a Warrior I should be able to, even if it gimps my character. That would allow for a wider range of skillsets. In WoW now, all PvP warriors are the same. Same spec, same gear, same enchants. It is a similar situation in PvE.

Dynamic Content. Not just computer based, but player based. Like Skyrim with random Dragons attacking cities but on a more broad scale. Nearly every city/town in game should be neutral and be able to be controlled by not only guilds/factions, but the computer as well.

Better Economy. Imagine WoW, but when you had to repair items, your faction/guild needed the resources as well. Mining material would be required to repair plate armor. Skinning for Leather. Etc. That would unite people to work towards a goal. It can also create a trading system between guilds that have too much mining and not enough leather and vice versa.

Get rid of cross server instances. Vanilla WoW had a much better community because you saw the same people all the time. Cross Server PvE and PvP ruined the community and basically turned it more Diablo like.

Keep it somewhat class based. Completely different playstyles keep people interested longer. Doesn't necessarily have the be the traditional Warrior/mage/Priest. Vampires/Werewolves/demons/mages is a system I am surprised hasn't been tried more. Same class based concept, but not as stale of an idea.

Anyway, that is just off the top of my head. I picked Blizzard because 10 years with the same game without a rival doesn't say much for other game makers.

Thats a good point your last sentence there.........once I played the action rpg co-op in dark souls I was like wow! if they could turn this into an mmorpg it would be a blast! The fighting felt so intense. Very much about skill over gear, and your character can be anything you want it to be.

Man, this is tricky.
Off the top of my head, I'd love to see an eerie atmospheric and genuinely scary game like Amnesia, Penumbra but done with bigger budget, but no big publisher strings, and done with CRYENGINE 3.
And if not, I'd throw enough money, staff and resources to this guy to complete and finish this
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/11/08/game-on-aliens-vs-marine-is-avp-in-cryengine-3/

Even if we had to pay for the license/IP.

Another thing I can think of is, a high graphics remake of ALL OF TAMRIEL (elder scrolls) with either dx10 or dx11, using maybe a better and different engine, better npc dialogue and interaction. Don't care if it would be 100GB installed. If I had godlike powers of time and money and devs, I would so have that made.

It has actually happened.

I really wanted to see a continuation of the "Longest Journey" series. And recently they got the funds to do so through kickstarter.

Another game I would like to see is a new, high budget, competitive, PC only, arena shooter. The kind that turns into an e-sport with long term developer support and that we get to enjoy for years. The problem is that these titles seem to fail nowadays. Lack of interest. Military shooters with mechanics associated with that genre (ADS etc) are now the thing everyone plays. Though there are still plenty of people playing games like Quake live and Team Fortress, so who knows. Maybe it will happen.

I'd make a game that teaches real-world self defense techniques. it'll use real-time motion capture and have accurate physics. You will also be able to compete against people in an online kumite! The goal is that by achieving a black belt in game, you can theoretically go out and earn a real one.

Baldur's Gate 3, made by the original team who did BG2.

Or a game in the same setting as Grim Fandango. Heck it can be a racing game with Glottis as your in game customisation guide/playable driver

And when you saw somebody with an epic item - *gasp* oh my god, he's uber

Obtaining rewards should feel rewarding, not just a two-hour mandatory grind.

Most of all, a reset in stats, enough with the incredi-scaling c&@p for me.

Also Battlefront 3, The Void 2

I'd rather have the power to Redlight COD.
