i chose performance mode in the asus z87 rog hero's bios easy mode and my computer did not load windows my computers cpu cooler sounded like it was struggling to start and it went to a blue screen giving me a error message so i went back into bios and it was set to 4.6ghz so i then loaded defaults and my computer boots normally again and is set to 3.5ghz . my question is can what happened to my computer when booting up do damage to it ?

how come I am not able to set my computer to performance mode in the rog uefi easy mode ? why does it automatically set the overclock speed to 4.6ghz isn't that a high overclock for a i7 4770k ?

I'm not sure. This is why we do it manually though.

so it is normal for a computer not to load windows after doing a automatic overclock ?

I really don't know. Just do it manually. You have Overclock.net at your disposal!

I was really put off by the noise my computer made when trying to load windows it sounded scary

No harm was done, my friend. It's still the same as it was before you experimented with that feature.

I tried to do it manually and when I choose core multiplier and type in the value I want 4.3ghz and go down to the next core to choose 4.3ghz it dose not let me and the value of the first core that I changed to 4.3ghz disappears

You need to make a thread to ask for help. Like I said, you have Overclock.net at your disposal. Use it. Your thread title should contain the name of your motherboard and the CPU that you are overclocking. Personally, I don't know Haswell overclocking.
