CryENGINE 3 is a revolutionary change from our previous PC-only engines
Don't get your panties in a twist, the wording leads me to believe that it's for all platforms (besides the fact that consoles don't use directx 10)
Still, I think this means that we won't see another crytek game like crysis which blows everything out of the water for years to come in the graphics department.
:-/
The Unreal Engine and the Havok engine have been out for almost three times longer then the Cry Engine 2, and these guys are going to make CE3? Wow...
Hopefully making it on consoles aren't going to impact the pc performance. I always thought that Crysis should be a console port and not a pc port. I can see now, Crysis delayed on pc due to pirating. Yet you can still get it in on the 360 2 weeks before the actually release.
the key to DX11 IS to use DX10 after all... they may implement it later, depending on the time it takes to develop the engine i think... to early to really say anything for sure, they just announced it. just my 2ct.
CryEngine 2 also worked on the PS3, and possibly the 360.....
On another note, expect Warface to be announced soon. Kinda funny they announce CE3 right after they trademark a logo for the CE and the name "Warface"

I believe DX11 specs are out? It is much easier to develop using the final specs then try to implement addition features later.
It was made for consoles and then ported to PC, so obviously no DX11. The graphics will actually be worse than Cryengine 2, as there is no chance in hell Cryengine 2 would come remotely close to running above 5fps on a console.
Thats dumb. They should have named it cryengine 1.5. That is, unless the consoles just use the extremely low settings and it is in fact an improvement over 2 on higher settings.
