Medal of Honor returns to the front lines, this time in today’s war. For the first time in the franchise’s 10-year history, Medal of Honor is leaving the WWII theatre and putting players in war-torn Afghanistan. Electronic Arts Inc. today revealed that in 2010, Medal of Honor, an all-new first-person shooter game, will introduce the Tier 1 Operator: a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle. The development team has been working closely with Tier 1 Operators from the US Special Operations Community since the earliest stages of development to create the most authentic modern war experience. Set against the backdrop of a rugged and brutal landscape, Medal of Honor depicts modern military operations through the lens of a small band of fictional characters. Inspired by real events, Medal of Honor reveals the mission of today’s most elite soldier â€" his will, his mindset and his uncompromising professionalism.

Medal of Honor is being built with a best-in-class single-player campaign. The Medal of Honor development team at EALA has been hand-selected by the studio leadership of General Manager Sean Decker, Executive Producer Greg Goodrich and Senior Creative Director Rich Farrelly. To compliment the single-player experience, EALA has enlisted the multiplayer expertise at EA DICE. This team will develop the multiplayer experience of Medal of Honor. These two studios are coming together to deliver a world-class Medal of Honor that is poised to re-set and re-boot the franchise for a new generation.

“When we first set out to reinvent Medal of Honor, we wanted to stay true to its roots of authenticity and respect for the soldier but bring it into today’s war. The Tier 1 Operator is the most disciplined, deliberate and prepared warrior on the battlefield. He is a living, breathing, precision instrument of war.†said Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer, Medal of Honor. “We are honored to have the rare opportunity to work closely with these men to create a game that shares their experience.â€

Hopefully it will be good. Airborne was a huge letdown compared to the masterpieces that were the other MOH games.

perhaps this is what they need to revive MOH series like Modern warfare did to COD
it's EA, what do you think.
What I think? I think they'll TRY to go after MW. Will they succeed, I don't know; doubtfully, but hopefull, it'd get IW back on their feet
MMM. Interesting. Normally EA could not make a good game if their lives depended on it. But they have been decent recently, could be very good.
Wow, this sure sounds good. EA taking on IW head on eh? With DICE helping on the MP?

Something tells me it will have dedicated server support!

A few years from now people will be talking about how the modern era is overused in FPSs and they will be wondering where all the good WWII games went.

It will happen.

I see this being a very mediocre game.
Dear Video Game Developers and Video Game Publishers,

Could we please get some NEW franchises and concepts please?

All the best,

Same thing Call of Duty did was go to modern day warfare. Hopefully Medal of Honor will be better.

Introducing MOH:MW2, now with dedicated servers!

All those that bought MW2 would rebuy MOH:MW2 just for the online play ... its ingenious!
This looks awesome. I want something comparable to MOH:AA. If it doesn't reach that, I'll probably die.

This is what I am thinking, if so it might be the game I have been looking for.

They should do a civil war FPS...

Field cannon, muskets and sabers oh my!

Imagine both sides fire and miss and then spend 10 minutes reloading...

That would make for some intense firefights (

IT's about damn time.

I might finally become interested in Medal of Honor if they honor this promise.

@ Robilar: That would be very interesting indeed. As long as they don't focus so heavily on historical accuracy that they ruin everything else, I'd play it.

You're also forgetting a few people that got Winchester repeaters, the original minigun, full-size cannons and the like. It would be very interesting.

All that smoke would rape video cards, tho...
