I'm buying an XBOX 1, what should I do with it?

My friend is selling me his xbox with all his accessories and games today for $38. Any cool things I could do to it (cheaply/freely, and easily)?
Also what dirt cheap games should I look into? im getting some marvel game, some soccer game, and halo 2. (By cheap I mean like under $5 or so. )

Deus Ex: invisible war is a really good game and sells for only a few dollars used. I installed Xbox media center on my old xbox 1 and it's great! There are guides all over the internet on how to install it.
alright. I would also PREFER to get games that are XBOX exclusives or better on xbox. Since deus X and fable are both on pc, idk if it would be wise to buy them for xbox...any ideas?
(unless they are much cheaper on xbox, like $3 on xbox at gamestop vs $20 on PC)

Sorry to hijack somewhat, but I have a question. Instead of going through the tedious steps that I found described on the web to get XMBC on the xbox, can't I just put XMBC as an OS on the xbox hard drive?

Buhh? As "an OS"? No, XBMC is a native Xbox application.. It's an advanced media center program, not an operating system. You'll have to install it the way you've heard.

sgdude: I say you should do an underglow mod on the Xbox. 4" cathodes will fit in each side of the front bezel if you crack the protective plastic casing surrounding the cathode tubes themselves. Crack it open by taking a hacksaw and sawing right down the middle of the plastic tubes.. Focus on the square ends though.

Once you get it sawed down enough to make a gap in the plastic, take a flathead screwdriver and carefully *POP* the plastic off. The cathodes can be mounted via two part 5 minute set clear epoxy. Worked great for me.

Dude tear it all out and create a pc, or mod the hell outa it and just have fun on halo.
Xecuter 3 CE + XBMC = absolute domination of your xbox1's full capabilities.

+1

That's the best suggestion for what you should do to it so far.

As for games, Rainbow Six 3 was pretty good on the original Xbox.

2
Knight of the Old Republic!!! (1 and 2)

Best RPGs of the era.

Forza Motorsport is, in a word, awesome.

Do yourself a favor and order the composite cables. It'll allow the Xbox to run in *some* HD profiles. (i think it'll do up to 720p? I forgot...)

Fable + expansion was groundbreaking. I loved that game. So almost Tim Burton-ish. I loved the english accents.

And as for buying them on the cheap, you absolutely can. Only go PC if you want the higher resolutions, but, I don't think it justifies the price increase.
