Hello guys, i'm in the process of building a new computer and have around £500 already our of the £1000. And i was wondering whether i could go and buy the Ram now and take full advantage of it....

Ram : G.Skill 1GB DDR ZX PC3200 (2x512MB) CAS2 Dual Channel Kit

Mobo : Msi KT4v

CPU : Athlon XP 2700

Yep, it will work in your machine, but will only run at default at the same rate as your FSB (166Mhz). If you want to get it upto DDR 400 you'll need to overclock.

Will i notice much performance difference with the new ram, putting aside the fact that its 1gb not 512

Doubtful. Having 1GB though should help with loading times and general use though.

It's very good low cost ram. It doesn't cost much more than value ram and I can get 1.5-3-2-5 timings at 205Mhz with it.
