With a low budget for a new heatsink I am planning on mounting a 60mm to 80mm fan adapter to heatsink for better cooling ... I guess?? Please give me your reviews and Explain !!

I think that will work well, for two reasons.

1. A small fan attached right to the heatsink not only has low CFM, but also has a dead spot in the middle because of the fans hub. The deadspot just happens to be located in the hottest area of the heatsink...in the middle.

2. An 80mm fan adaptor will hold the larger fan away from the heatsink, allowing it to cool better with more airflow and no deadspots.

I hate to be the one to tell you, but you're thinking like an overclocker!

yes yes you are

I havnt seen that in a while

but I have seen someone with a 80mmfan on his heatsing (standard)
-cut the crap out of another 80mm and glue them together

therefore creating what xavier just exsplained

i thought he was saying that hes gonna use a 60mm fan instead of an 80mm...

which would not only mean less cubic feet per minute, but the dead spot is gonna grow.

now if it were a 120mm fan on a 80mm heatsink
or a 80mm fan on a 60mm HS

then you've got yourself a plan, and a good one
but if youre trying to save money by using a smaller fan than would normally be supplied with a CPU (retail) i can't say I'd reccommend it. i mean, unless you stay away from overclocking, then you MIGHT be okay. but it'd be quite a bit more dangerous.

but i'm just guessing
