Corsair doesn't manufacture memory they bin chips from manufacturers like micron, samsung, hynix etc and sell them as kits.

Unforunately, micron is the worst for DDR5, it's first gen DDR5 so to be expected.

M-die can do nice timings, around 6000-7000.

Yes 5600 m die kits seem to be the best for the price currently, though I've only looked at 2x16 pricing.

Not really, I've always found them the worst for ram.

On the vengeance 3200-3600 lines, they buy and mix any cheap trash ICs they can find that run those speeds, so theres no way to find a low clocked specific IC for cheap with Corsair.

Anytime they do have good bins of anything, they pre bin and overcharge for it.

2x32gb might not run fast even though it says qvl.... do you need 64? 2x16 not enough? be able to run much faster speeds 2x16.... i run the corsair veng 2x16 at 6200 on a z690prime-a and been working great for months. likely do 6400. havent tried... need more gpu power first

been on the phone with tech support with asus, and theA channel on the motherboard is having issues and now it won’t post to bios with anything in A channel. B channel with both DIMMS working independently and together in B channel alone without issue.

Wow dam poor on asus. Either they didn’t keep hardly any for rma or they have a lot of rma going on ha. Buy a different board and sell the prime once it gets there. Get a 2 dimm board unless budget is holding you back. Much better ram stability I think.

2 dimm board, if you don't need the extra slots theres the MSI and Asus ITX options,

The MSI one has 3 x M.2 slots too, just that they both only have a single PCI-E slot for the GPUs, also Arctic AIO mounts won't fit on most ITX boards.

Hi All,

Well, the new MOBO works with both A and B channels woot!

All is running great but the XMP profile on the mobo/chips is really unstable. I am no overclocking expert and RAM was never my thing, Does anyone know what timings I should set to get the KF556C40BBK2-64 kit to work with this Asus Prime Z790-a wifi board? Asus support is useless.

I found the timings 40-40-40-80-135 for 5600mhz, but I can't find the tRC setting in the bios.

There is no tRC setting on Intel it is based on tRAS and tRP and auto calculated by bios.

I traded out the micron kit for Kingston fury; they said they were m-die on the sheet but they are actually sk Hynix,

my mobo is the prime series I can't use those yet. I do have the latest already installed though.

Ok a few days into these settings for XMP1, and I keep getting BSOD and random crashes. Really seems like the ram timings need to be tweaked in the bios. XMP1 is not working to spec. Mem diagnostics says there are errors when running in XMP1 (5600mhz) but not when running default JDEC settings at 4800mhz.

Thanks I wish I knew more about ram timings, the stuff is above me. The last time I built my own overclock system was 15 years ago when I was in my college days.

Well after a lot of learning and tweaking, here are the finals from CPU-Z. I might still mess with them, but it's running super stable @5500mhz and Kingston 6000mhz ram OC to 6400. Details here: Intel Core i7 13700K @ 5500 MHz - CPU-Z VALIDATOR
