I'm trying to get Indigo Xtreme to work with XSPC Rasa WB and i7 930.

Having some difficulties, hoping anyone here can help out?

1. Instructions say to disconnect pump, then Run CPU Burn programs to increase temp to around 90-100C.
- I don't really get that part, I disconnect pump and temps are already 100C without any load on the CPU from software at all. This is expected though. So this step is kind of confusing me.

2. This video on youtube shows it done so easily - With temps going up to 90-100C, then down to 60-70C, then back up to 90C. Reflow is complete.
- I didn't see my temps going down after 10 mins of around 100C. Does that mean I failed the reflow process?

3. If you don't get it in one shot like the video, does that mean that I've already wasted an Indigo Xtreme and will have to use another one?

This whole method of applying this is so alien for me. I might go back to 'normal' TIM if I can't get this to work.

Thanks for reading, any help is appreciated.

I had a similar problem (tho im using AM3). My temps went up to 90C, stayed there... dropped to 85C and then stayed there for a few mins, only to hit 90C again. I also have the XSPC cpu block...
I think the thing to watch here, is they need you to look at all the CORE temps, not just CPU temps, and any drop/rise again means reflow complete.

you should also note that theres no way the indigo extreme doesnt melt at those high temps for a little while.

I used that 3 times and mine reflowed before I even did the test all 3 times so I guess every system is different. I took 1 off when I changed a CPU and it reflowed perfectly so I don't know what to tell you except to run some prime95 or intel burntest and see how your temps are. If your temps are good I would say it is working

Well I just screwed up my second Indigo Extreme ETI, and there's tiny fragments stuck all over my CPU and WB...gonna take a while to get it all off lol.

No more ETI left now, back to Shin Etsu I go.

Thanks for the all the assistance anyway guys, appreciate it.

This is one of the reasons why I don't like indigo extreme. Running a CPU, especially an AMD CPU, at near 100C for any length of time is not a good thing.

If you want a high performance TIM that doesn't need a reflow at really high CPU temps, then use Coollaboratory Liquid Pro or Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra and be happy knowing it'll perform better then Indigo Extreme anyway
