IT LOOKS LIKE Palit is doing the long rumoured and closing shop in the US.

The brand, while strong in other regions, never seemed to hit critical mass in North America.

Expect an announcement about the closing soon, from what we hear, no other regions will be affected.µ
A short blurb but something to watch out if you own or plan to buy a Palit card.

Ohh.. No.. I loved the Frog with the Nuclear powered blue tooth cell phone and the robotic bird legs...
On a more serious note. Palit was an absolute great buy and an even better product. I hate to see it go. I used them in two of my builds and they were great. Never a problem and usually more features than the compitition. I wish the company a blessing for success whereever they find themselves and dump the Frog. Learn from the rest of the ATI crew. Get a beautiful young Girl with some kind of weapon and a metal or silk ninja suit and come back. We will definitely welcome them back with open arms.
God Bless you Palit. We will miss you.
Ribit.
The dark industrial look sells better IMO.
That's a shame, they usually donated a few cards to the LAN I go to. (www.thegxl.com)
Hmm, as little stock as they had in the US prior to deciding to close shop is it really a wonder they have such a poor market share?

You have to be easily accessible if you want to do well, compared to every other brand here in the US Palit has always been one of the hardest to just come across, and if you wanted one you probably needed to know you wanted one and go looking for it before hand....all this adds up to their fail, not ours.
This sucks, I liked palit because they were one of those companies that liked to make special cards with decent coolers on them.

Like GDDR4 on HD4670's, now its just Sapphire I think.
Thank god Sapphire has a solid foot in the U.S. though.
so does that mean that Gainward will push more?as they are the same company after all and Gainward is better known in the USA
Oh, I was under the impression that palit was easier to get in the US. I've at least seen Palit around randomly here and there, Gainward I've never been able to get a good connection on at all.

OMG my favorite card ever was a palit 8800gt. THat thing had some cooling and overclock potential. Its like they box their cards with love or something. This does make me sad.
I never bought Palit, but I did think about it, a lot. But since I buy used a lot, that really wasn't up to me.

Gainward left the US a few years ago (4-5?)... and Palit aquired them a few years after that.

Damn, only 83 companies left to buy a video card from.
Palit is indeed nice....

I have a Palit Sonic Edition HD4850 and it's very nice...full load I never see over 34c on temps and it's whisper quiet...

I have had a few Gainward cards as well and they were also nice...I have had a few of the passive cards and they ran great...

Gainward was fairly popular in the US from the Geforce 2 to the Geforce 7 era, certainly more so than Palit.

Yeah, though I think it was more like 3 years back. Not 100% sure though.

Last Gainward card I had was a 6800GT and I know they lasted at least a year or two beyond that.

Palit seemed to be the spiritual and actual successor to Gainward.
