Install OSX Yosemite on 2007 macbook

I have a 2007 MacBook (white), Apple only supports it up to Lion 10.7.5. I have seen online where people have installed newer systems on these macs but I am worried about stability and speed issues and some claim that there are hardware issues. Is there any stable upgrades i could do to my mac (I would be happy if i could get it up to Mountain Lion at least)

For older hardware I would suggest sticking with an older OS. Running a newer OS may feel sluggish.

Epic, you are correct on that one. It may result in some rather subpart performance. There are ways to do it but it is something that I cannot recommend (begin a former apple specialisted who DID NOT work for apple).

Yeah, those machines by today's standards are a bit underpowered.
