I just bought a Plextor dvd burner off of newegg and am going to replace my TEAC burner that just died. Can I just hook up the new drive, load the new drivers and start burning? Or do I have to uninstall my current drive? If so, how do I go about doing that?

Thanks,
Baked

Im no expert but if you just install your new driver you should be sweet. If you want to remove it do the old "Add/Remove hardware" option I guess.

I tried using add/remove, but its nowhere to be seen there. I guess the new driver software will help get rid of it, or maybe write over it?

Drivers are not a necesity for disk drives, so I'd bet the TEAC didn't have any. Just take it out, put in the Plextor, and put on the Plextor drivers.
