When I install XP, do I need to have an internal cdrom drive installed, or will I be able to use a firewire external cd drive?

While the Deluxe sports the nifty built in firewire connection I'm am unable to tell if you are able to boot from it.
My board supports booting from USB but not every board with USB does. I would have to say "just try and see" put the Disc in the drive and hold down the F8 or F10 or F12 or whatever ASUS uses for Boot Options (you should see it at startup).
