hello im am building an intel c2d pc and i have a slite problem the mobo im getting is the: Asus P5NSLI, nForce-570 SLI http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=324426
and it says it only supports PC2-4300, PC2-5300 ram types
now its a wee bit hard to fined good ram at low prices for pc5300
i was wondering if i would be able to use pc5400 in the slots
the reson im thinking i can is because on the komplett site they have included corshair pc5400 in the pc5300 section

i could live with getting pc5300 but i realy did want corshiar
also if i cant fit the pc5400 wich of these would be better:
http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=321129
or
http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=327536

may main reson for asking is that both of these run on 2.2v but for sam dam dumb ass reson thaqt board only goes to 2.1v (if my reading is correct)

just for the sake of it heres the rest of my specs:
c2d e6300 ( i plan to oc this to around 2.4 -2.6 if poss)
zalman 9500
7900 gto (plan to oc to gtx speeds or close)
hyper type r 580w psu
my cooling will include 2x 12cm fans and 1 9cm ram mounted on the side or my thermaltake saprano

ty for any help givin i tryed thinking and reading around but i couldnt come to a conclustion so i thought y not ask the guys that know these things
also sorrie for posting this here but thers not ram sections

(spelling mistakes? sorry....lmao)

humm i was thinking that my self but..
its not a huge overclock like 600mhz the board comes with oc'ing programs and bios will oc at 1mhz increasments

like i said i know when it gets to big oc'ing its very important about chipset ect ect

but i would have thought that it wouldnt hold me back that much as my oc will be small

are you even planning on going SLI with that 7900? if not, you can just get a board with an intel chipset. Heck, you can run SLi on those boards with hacked drivers, and eventually normal drivers.
http://www.tbreak.com/forums/showthread.php?p=266475 <--quad sli.
i was getting the sli to be some what future proff the 7900 will run most games as u know but in a few years ill be f**ked

im in a tite spot will a grand budget for now im 15 ill be working in 2 years so ill be able to but a nice shiney gfx card every few months but till then i have to ask my mum for parts and she doesnt see how important a better gfx card is so my chances of an upgrade wil be low

on the other hand if i plan to sli the gto's ill have to by the second soo and i cant lol (budget) so by the time i can afford a new gto they will be all gone unless they start making them permenant beacuse of the boom

plusi love nvidia and iv had a few people tell me that nvdias arnt for intel boards but i want a e6300 lol so when i seen this mobo i was like woooot ;P

would u recommend me getting a singal slot pci-e mobo?
i have around 80 pound to spend on the mobo...

bah im soooo confused

No, most boards aren't single slot pci-e, (the ones that are are crap) but i think you can get a good p965 chipset and OC that 6300 to over 3.0ghz with good cooling. With hacked drivers, you should still be able to run SLi with two 7900s when the time comes. Although G80 is right around the corner, you obviously can't afford it, so i guess waiting to go SLi is right for you. you may not have DX10, but they aren't too shabby of a setup.

My favorite board- the Asus P5B-deluxe(965P)
Other boards- Asus P5WDH (expensive, 975X)

(btw i'm 15 too, i'm up late doing my english paper, just finished. )
