I was wondering how much overclocking capabilities are in the H77 motherboards? I was reading and i know that they are supposed to only allow CPU multiplier but is it possible to increase CPU voltage as well? I was reading and came across this article http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1914307 which states that with an IVY bridge cpu the multiplier can be changed and in theory the i5 3570k overclocked to 4.5ghz... I went ahead and read the manual for my asus p8h77-i motherboard for my mini itx build (as i'm waiting for my backordered silverstone PSU) and noticed that it stated there was a cpu voltage option on chapter 2 page 15 and it states you can increase voltage at 0.05 increments? So in my confusion i went searching for the bios menu for my motherboard and found one for the asus p8h77-m (which i prseume would be fairly similar if not identical) and came across this video and you get a clear look at the voltage modifications you can make at 3:02... Now im wondering if anyone can comfirm that this works on the asus p8h77-i motherboard?

If it can be overclocked, then it is in your UEFI BIOS, and it's all in the Ai Tweaker tab, the "CPU Power Management" area in the Ai Tweaker tab, and finally in Advanced Mode and in the "CPU Configuration" area of the Advanced tab.

However, I do not know how to actually increase clock speed. All I can recommend is to use the manual while you're in the UEFI BIOS and experiment. Perhaps the "CPU Ratio" needs to be changed in either "CPU Power Management" or "CPU Configuration (but probably not both). I don't know.

Clock speed is increased via the multiplier and voltage. Although every forum seems to state that H77 boards don't support voltage modification so only very limited OC can be obtained. Does anyone have my perticular motherboard? (Asus P8H77-I) As im wondering if there is a voltage modifier in it for unlocked ivy bridge processors.

Yes, it's in the Ai Tweaker tab under "CPU Voltage". Right now it's set to Auto, but you can choose three different offsets: +0.05V, +0.10V, and +0.15V.
