Intel/i7 noob questions

Hey all,

I'm going to be building an i7 system for my brother soon, and I need to know some information about i7 920 CPUs. Please bear with me, I haven't worked with Intel products since P4.

- What is a safe temperature under load? (For AMD quads, people generally try to stay under 55C. 62C is kind of the absolute max.)
- How high can I safely overclock with the stock cooler?
- What's the best air cooler for the price? I'm guessing the TRUE, Megahalem...is the Dark Knight any good for i7s?
- What are safe voltage limits? (For AMD quads, 1.4-1.45 is considered safe and conservative, though some people take it to 1.55-1.6 with really good cooling.)
- Can you give me your best guess as to how to reach 3.5 GHz? Cooler, settings, voltages, etc. I realize everyone's results will vary, but there are usually ballpark guesses that are close for most people (like hitting 3.6 on AMD quad will require bumping voltage from stock 1.35 to 1.4 or 1.425...and multiplier to 18x).

Some of my questions may be off or whatever, but please just give your best recommendation. Thanks a ton.

-Tj Max is 100C so the usual -15 from that
-For the price i'd say the Dark Knight with the Megahelm at a close second (Mega is still a better cooler but $/performance)
-safe voltage limits are essentially the same

Thanks guys. I definitely don't need to get him up to 4.0 GHz or anything, just a modest 3.5 will do. Stability is everything since he'll be using this computer for valuable work.

4.0 on a i7 is usually a walk in the park depending on the chip and on a 45 nm intel i wouldnt go above 1.4 but even if you have a bad chip you can still get 4ghz under 1.4 vcore
