there is a diference of 123€ from the intel to the AMD.

all i wanna know if its the performance between intel to the AMD worth the 123€ diference.

any advices to one\\another to increse\\decrese price with same\\better performances are wellcome to.

Note: The PC will be for gaming only. and im really in need of a good pc and i dont want to mess again this time, so i thank you all in advance. (cant wait for Diablo 3)

they will be nearly par. i would go for the amd and the 4890 myself if you play alot of games like CS, call of duty, TF2. if you play alot of games like crysis that are optimized for nvidia then go amd and the gtx 275

depends on what games you play for best perfromance. i think you will get a bit better performance with that PII than the i7 cause the PII can overclock like crazy

The Intel build will absolutely smash the AMD one, not sure what you're thinking. The HD4890 is a little better than the GTX275 but the GTX275 is quieter and cooler.

dude...dont take this to a flame wars xD

for gaming purposes, they are nearly par and it depends WHICH game... i really despise fanboys

as for gtx 275 and 4890, ive had both.. i know for a FACT on certain games like crysis, they gtx 275 wins and cod4/5, CS, L4D, TF2 and such the 4890 wins

there's your answer right there

no point in going in i7 if you just game. check out my sig, clock for clock, phenom 2s are faster in real time gaming most of the time.

no point in getting a gtx275 unless you fold. the 4890 is slightly faster and ocs like a beast.

i guess im going AMD then.

i dont play the games u mentioned. im more an rpg player:
NWN 2 , diablo, the witcher , and some RTS.
cant play good ones yet cuz my PC sucks and thats why i need one.
next year diablo will be out and i will spend most of the time playing it.
ty for opinions.
i was pending more to amd anyway (more red stuff fits well with HAF
)

go for the i7, and get a 4890.
with a X58 you can do SLI or crossfire.

The Intel build will not smash the AMD Build, there will little or no noticeable difference what so ever, unless all he uses is multi-theaded applications. The 955 will do better in gaming and will be perfect for desktop use, and it saves you $200. I hate how people are always like 'The i7 will destroy the Phenom II build', no that is usually never true when your talking about 955 vs 920, think real world performance here people, not scores off programs like 3dmark06, It says my X3 OC'd 600MHZ is faster than an i7, and I can tell you its not. He said hes just going to be gaming and the Phenom II build is in fact better for gaming, and the Phenom II 955 itself is better for gaming than the i7. +With the 955 you won't have 45c+ idle temps. Don't mislead people just because you like intel or AMD, if the Intel was better I would tell him to go with Intel, but wasting $200 for performance that is the same or worse is just bad.

Since this is for gaming I would go with AMD, but if you do decide to go i7...

You are going to need a Triple channel memory kit for the i7
6GB G.Skill 1600Mhz CL8109,00 €
6GB G.Skill 1600Mhz CL9102,90 €

Also the board you chose on the i7 is a MicroATX. Go with one of these.

Motherboard Gigabyte Skt1366 - GA-EX58-UD4P iX58 - 211,00 €

Motherboard Asus Skt1366 - P6T iX58 - 219,00 €

Motherboard Asus Skt1366 - P6T SE iX58 - 184,40 € If you arent going to SLi

Getting a XFX 4890 with the i7 would save you 60€
XFX ATI Radeon PCI-E HD4890 1Gb GDDR5 (850M) -179,00 €

you may want to get a 940be+am2+ mobo+ddr2 instead and save another 100€.

but when i checked that site, there aren't much of variaty of amd mobos there. especially the cheaper 790gx or the ud4p.

oh well, go for an i7+4890 then.

also, change the asus 4890 with the xfx one for the amd build if you want to save some bucks.

For gaming go an X3 720 or an E8400 and sit pretty then. It makes no difference anyway. If you are going to get a quad core, you get it for multi-tasking and I can tell the difference between an i7 machine and my machine easily. The i7 build is better by far assuming they are similar prices - no ifs no buts. AMD does not have a rival at that price point and anyone getting a quad core Phenom II needs their bolts tightened.
