Hello,

I currently have a Abit Ag8 motherboard and a Pentium 4 506 (2.66Ghz) CPU that is currently overclocked to 3.22Ghz (160 x 20). I need to know how can I push this Processor to higher speeds. I currently have the stock heatsink and fan, but I am going to get a better one ( any inputs ).....

I have upped the Vcore from stock to 1.4275 volts and also upped the Northbridge (1.80v) and DRAM (2.60v). What else can I try to get this processor to 3.8Ghz, which is roughly a 190 FSB setting. Right now I could go higher with the current settings to a 170 FSB setting, but the system will become unstable with BSOD's.

Need any input on aftermarket heatsink and fan and also input on getting the processor higher with or without a new heatsink and fan. What settings has anyone else who has this motherboard tried? I am looking for some good responses here so please help a fellow member out with alot of input!!!!!

i suggest getting a thermaltake Big Typhoon and a thermaltake thunderblade fan to replace the fan that comes with it. the better cooling should give you a slightly higher overclock.
(add 25CFM and 5decibels and some cool LED's)
if you havent got any case fans, or if they're not all that great you might want to look into getting some. i tried turning off my exhaust fan once and my cpu temps went up 3-7C (idle-load)

put it at stock settings before you replace the heatsink though, wouldnt want it overheating for any reason.
what are stock volts for your processor? upping voltage a bit will add stability and let you to go further, and with a better cooler and dropped temps you will be able to overvolt it more (since voltage adds more heat than just frequency)

Thanks for the advice fade2green. I hooked up to the links you provided and am in the process of ordering the both. I'll let you know if I hit the big 4.0 in the future.

Don't expect to get the AG8 that high in overclock, the 915P chipset is not the greatest nor the AG8, why? Because I have an AG8 and the most I could get out of it stable was a 37fsb overclock and 50fsb max but not stable.
