what about q8300 vs q6600, why nobody talks about the q8300. is q6600 better for overclocking that q8300?

Depends on your motherboard. The 8300 has a lower multiplier so it's going to take a board which can produce higher FSB
7.5 multi makes the max OC a lot tougher. 4mb of cache instead of 6mb.
why did the put the q8300 at low cache that the older q6600, and i have a g33 outcasst
q6600 would be better
you can get 3.6ghz with 1600mhz fsb(which most mobos can do if not all)
with the q8300, with a multi of 7.5 you need 1920mhz fsb (which many mobos cant do)
and the q6600 has 8mb of cache compared to 4mb (or 6 dunno for sure) on the q8300
games love L2 cache

ok cool, not really planing to overclock yet. so the q6600 is better. i need to get a new board soon. i have a g33, but its an HP one, so i can't overclock. know any good mMTX motherboard?
Q8300 is 7.5x multi and 4 mb cache vs. Q6600 is 9x multi and 6mb cache. If you have a high fsb board such as UD3P etc, you may give it a try, otherwise, Q6600 is better than.

Q6600 has 2x4mb cache. 8mb total.
