Looks like a brilliant idea but poorly executed. I like it because the area behind the monitor is wasted on most desks with a discrete monitor and tower side-by-side, and for LANs it allows me to have a full ATX case and a large monitor without quite as much bulk/weight as the two separately.
Would be interesting to see how broad their "patent" is on an L-shaped case.
