I chose Internet Censorship as the topic of my senior research paper. I figured you guys would know a bit about the subject, and while I obviously can't use OCN as a source, I can use it as a springboard for my research. What I'm asking is this: if you know anything even remotely relevant to this subject, post it, hopefully include a link that I can reference in my paper. If you see or know of a news article on the issue, let me know here.
I'm not only looking at other countries that censor the web, but also schools, libraries, etc.
Reasons for censoring the web? (pornography, piracy)
Should the US censor the internet? If so, who should control/monitor this?
Anything about politicians and net neutrality is relevant information, but don't get deep into the politics here on the forums.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'm hoping we can get a nice database of reference material here, not just for me, but for anyone that needs the information or is interested in the subject. I couldn't find any other big threads on this issue, so discussion/debate is open, as long as we're following OCN's rules. Thanks again!
