Internet goes out for a few minutes late at night

This has been happening for about a week. Late at night usually between 12 and 2 AM my internet will go out. I think it may be my router. I can't access its settings or ping. My modems lights are all lit as they should be so the problem most likely isn't there. I have a Linksys WRT54G with Tomato v1.25. Resetting does nothing it seems.

Contact you provider.

This would always happen to me on embarq's ****ty internet service.

you run cable? or phone line if this check your phone filters.
Yeah that's a provider issue. Call them up and complain, you might get something free out of it.
This happens to me with Fairpoint. Usually when I am downloading though so I think its on purpose. Im going to call them soon as you should call yours as well.
Although I have had a lot of issues with Comcast in the past and usually do call them up and complain (and don't get anything extra out of it) im pretty sure its not them. I have their digital phone service as well and everything goes through this telephony modem (cable and phone line plug in) and whenever my internet would go out in the past so would my phone service and the status lights would indicate this.
They could be doing technician repair to the lines during that time. Usually it is done late in the evening or around midnight.

I would still call them up to verify if this is the case or not.

I had this same problem and my prvider (comcast) wouldn't take the blame. I finaly tried replacing the cable that leads to my cable modem and WALLAH! FIXED! this can happen allot if too much, or too little of the cable middle lead is exposed. some weird thing that i dont understand... But unplug the cable, and take a look at the white plastic ring around the middle lead. It should be flush with the metal casing. If it isn't, dig up a replacement and see if that sorts the problem.
Called in, apparently my SnR is too high and a tech is coming to my house tomorrow. Looks like I have to clean my room again...
Your SNR can't be too high... it's most likely too low

Maybe he meant the noise was too high.

Yeah... well the signal to noise ratio is sorta self-explanatory. It should be as high as possible to get the cleanest signal. So either he meant that your noise levels were too high, or he just didn't know what he was talking about
