So are they out yet? Where can I find them?

Also, what companies make them?

Thanks.

Yes they are out. Try Google Search in Shopping section. HP, Lenovo, and Samsung seem to be selling them in the U.S..

Finally, haha.

Which is recommended of those three brands? What brands sell them outside of the US.

I have no clue which brand to use since I don't own an ION netbook. If I had to choose, it would be Lenovo since they had experience with lightweight laptops. For users here in the U.S., HP is the popular choice. I think there are more ION netbooks sold outside. Acer sells them since I heard one user from the U.K. has one.
I'm waiting for the Asus Eee PC 1201N. I remember playing CounterStrike on a desktop a bit slower than that back when CounterStrike was new. Quality movie playback on a larger docked monitor is an attractive option.

With the PC 1201N have the Ion platform? If not, is it supposed to perform better than the Ion?

I don't see the Asus PC 1201N listed on the USA site, so either they won't sell these or be released later in the future. Most likely it won't be release in the USA. Probably released elsewhere in the world.

Thank you, but I would still like to hear some information on it if anyone has any.

Enjoy.

Fun fact: the only difference between the ION and the ION "LE" is that the LE model does not come with DX10 support. Other than that, they are the same chip.

EDIT: You might also be interested in the hack that enables DX10 on HP's ION LE netbooks.

You can browse around this set, they looked dedicated to the new tech.

I played with ION last year at CES and it was very impressive especially on it's multi tasking abilities.
