Well, I currently have a Crossover 27Q LED-P, but I really miss having multiple monitors. I'd rather have my 7970 run things by downsizing to 1080p/1200p as opposed to getting another (or two more) 27Qs PLUS a second 7970 to handle games.

Anyhow, I've looked at the S2340L/M, the VS239H-P, and the IPS237L-BN, which all fulfill the first two requirements (IPS and a thin bezel). I believe I looked at the one from AOC too. However, it doesn't look like any of them have VESA mounts, which is a definite must.

I'm looking to sell my 27Q LED-P and cover the cost of two (or as close to two as possible) so I don't really want to go over $200USD per monitor. (There is one stuck green pixel so we'll see if I can find a buyer) I don't want to compromise on having IPS, a thin bezel, and VESA mount - and I'd be fine with 21.5"-24" - but I'm not seeing any options available to me. Is there a monitor that I haven't looked at, or perhaps an alternative to VESA mounting for any of these?

You're really looking for an rare animal there, MrSpoon. I can't find one even after several hours of looking but maybe somewhere here has an idea. Your restrictions are pretty confining, and I can only think of one monitor that is Vesa Mountable, and a thin Bezel, and that is the Samsung MD230. Note, its not IPS, but Samsung's specialty - the C-PVA.

NOTE: I've found it really difficult finding a true IPS monitor of ANY SIZE AND SPEC, for $200 or less, so finding one with your specs maybe hard. You can try looking at eIPS. I recommend going to see eIPS in person, since it looks virtually identical in quality to IPS to most people. And I consider myself fairly discerning...

The color and viewing angles are great and I would say they are comparable to LG's IPS technology. C-PVA was co-designed by Samsung and Sony to directly compete with LG-Hitachi's co-designed eIPS (budget IPS). Problems with the monitor: really slow response rate (8ms) and expensive $300+. Other than that, I really think your best bet is that AOC i2367fh. The way its designed, you can probably make a vesa mount for it from stuff from home depot with some slotted aluminum rails and a metal plate and a good drill. I may try it one day, but the idea is you could remove the base from the monitor and use that arm like structure to screw an aluminum plate too and mount that on your VESA fixture.

P.S. I'm looking for a good crossover! Where is the stuck green pixel? And how's the bleed?

I would think this has to be an engineering issue because the case on the IPS Panel/ Bezel that is that thin wouldn't be able to support its weight if VESA mounted. This is likely why we are not seeing one.

I'm not really opposed to eIPS, hIPS, other other iterations of the technology as long as the glow isn't too bad and/or uniform, the color can be calibrated accurately, and I get my 178 degree viewing angles. If there is one closer to $230-240, I can always wait out a sale, too.

I was planning on getting a stand from Tyke Supply (this one in particular), and seeing the back arm coming off the AOC helps. I'm wondering if I'm stuck with going about this the DIY approach, or if there is an existing bracket or something similar for these newer monitors. Surely I can't be the only one wanting monitors like these and to have them mounted. Maybe I'll dig around a little more with that approach in mind.

Yeah, I realize these LED IPS monitors are very thin. I would just think that any of these manufacturers would have set a spot for a VESA mount as part of the back panel that protruded 1" or so. Given the light weight of these, I can't imagine that one would need much longer of a bolt to support them.

Edit:, Unless I'm mistaken, I keep seeing evidence that the VS239H-P DOES have 100mm VESA mounting.

Well, actually, I used to have VS239H-P at work until we switched the whole office to Dell Ultrasharps (2013 model) and it does have VESA Mount holes. The Bezel thinness aren't that impressive though. If you have a Micro Center or a Frys or something nearby I suggest you take a look at it. If you are a bit obsessive about bezel width, it may be a bit too big. Thats just first impressions though and I only had one, so I don't know how it fares with multi-monitor setups. They are 1.8 cms, but thats not super thin or anything.

And no, you aren't the only one looking for that kind of monitor. There are tons of people looking for the ultimate multi-monitor/eyefinity experience looking for this stuff, but the companies don't appear to think there's a market for it. My guess is, that aside from guys here on OCN , HardOCP and all, there are few people who even know the difference between TN and IPS or even care much about the bezels outside of gamer and enthusiast social spheres. Maybe someone needs to barge into a marketing division and get one made for us folk.

Thanks for the input on the VS239H-P's screen. I don't want to think (or admit) that I'm obsessing, but the width does play a factor in my purchase. 1.8cm doesn't sound TOO bad, my Crossover looks to be sitting at 2.8cm, which is in my opinion entirely too large. I did see that there is someone by the name of italiangladiatorjoe selling brackets for the S2240L/M and S2340L/Mon eBay for ~30USD (including shipping). I may mull that over for a few days and see if that's a route I'd want to take before settling on a more expensive display or one that I'd have to do the work to myself (as opposed to getting this adapter)

This will be difficult but you could debezel the Crossover and mount the panel and PCB to a sheet of acrylic or whatever material of your choosing. You can drill holes for a VESA mount onto that piece of material.

Not quite sure how that will turn out...I think Vega did that with some Catleaps. How he mounted the Catleaps I didn't pay attention to. You could ask him.

I don't know if you ever figured out a solution, BUT I was looking for a new monitor since my IPS277L had a mishap and broke, and found LG has a replacement for them

It has from what I understand, the same panel and bezel that the IPS237L-BN has plus it has VESA mounts!

man finding any information on this specific model is HARD. apparently NO ONE in the states sells them except fry's electronics (how that's possible I don't know)

it doesn't even show up on LG's US site. I could only find it on the japanese site

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I found some S2340M for $160 on amazon (I might have gotten the last three at that price since they're $190 now). I also ordered a desk mounted stand from tyke supply and those brackets I mentioned earlier from gladiatorjoe after reading up on eBay feedback and reviews for the vesa adapters for the S2340M. I'll probably hook the 27q led-p up to a raspberry pi running openelec or sell it.

Everything should be in some time next week, but I've received the monitors and I'm happy with how they look.
