On 3dMark Vantage's default settings, I get a score of 11318. My computer is in my signature. Is this any good? I have absolutely no idea, it's just an arbitrary number to me.

Not when compared to Core i7 965 rigs with 5970' in Crossfire.

I wouldn't go off synthetice benchmarks though.

Well, I don't really care how it performs compared to different rigs I care how it performs compared to an identical rig.

What's wrong with Vantage? Isn't that what everyone uses for their benchmark?

Your score is not that good. i7 920 is better than my Amd PhenomII 955. Your cpu score is lower. If you want better scores oc the cpu a little.

im calling BS, you have a crossfire system so no physx capabilities, his CPU score is inflated to 44k because physx is enabled, with PPU disabled he would be at around 22k probably, even with my i7 920 oced to 4.6ghz with HT on I don't pass over 30k so there is no way your phenom is beating 44k unless you have a dedicated physx card

its an alright score, disable ppu next run and do some overclocking and compare it to score on hwbot.org

What is PPU?

Someone correct me if Im wrong but I believe it means Physics processing Unit which is a setting that activates Physx processing on your GPU instead of CPU.

Because only NVidia cards can activate physx on the GPU they recieve higher CPU scores in 3d mark vantage. This creates an unfair advantage for Nvidia cards in 3d Mark vantage that inflates their score. Because of this official ranking engines like ORB or Hwbot don't allow physx enabled scores.
Okay, without PhysX, my CPU score is 18682 and GPU score is, again, 9961.

Is this any good? While my average FPS was 29.11, it dipped below 10fps several times during the GPU tests. And this is just at default 3dMark Vantage settings.
I have pretty much the same setup and got P14348

How do you even enable that? Physx over exaggerates CPU score. To OP your scores look fine to me.

Reason: Here it is. At 3.25ghz, you have about twice the CPU score as my old 9950 at 3.2ghz. So clock for clock, your i7 scores twice as high my old POS 9950 lolz... 19k at 3.25 and no physx is normal!

Overclock that baby to 4.0ghz and your CPU score will soar and so will your P vantage score

Validation:

Ok your GPU scores might be a bit but not out of the norm. If you find the best the drivers (for you which could mean rollbacking) and overclock the GPU, you will see higher scores on the GPU, I would say anywhere between 11-12k
I have a 280 GTX @ 650/1450/1200 and heres my score:

So people stop saying his score is not right. Its fine.

PS: Also make sure you have the right settings in nvidia CP. Uncheck V sync and see to that AA is turned off. Also set it to single display performance mode. Make sure for any strange reason if Vantage somehow checked AA. Turn it off in Vantage as well...

Cheers!

Check Sig for Rig info. Same CPU and GPU as you. But much better scores. Especially on the CPU. My 260 is oc'd to 705/1102/1520. I had my 9500GT PhysX card uninstalled and had PhysX enabled on the 260. (Haven't ran 3DMark with PhysX card in yet.)

3DMark Score:13600
GPU:10905
CPU:52596

Again it's not balanced. Your CPU is at 4.1ghz and his is at 2.66ghz. Also you have a card that's dedicated to PhysX while he doesn't. Unfair comparison.
