I will state first I am NOT looking to get a Macbook Pro so dont suggest it.

Someone is offering me one for about $300, I would like to toy around with Mac OS however dont really wanna go all out for it. I use a laptop to basically watch movie, music, and surf the web. No photoshopping or anything like that.

Its a 800mhz with 128mb ram (was thinking of bumping it up to 600mb).
$300 seems a bit steep, I'd say $200-250. But I used a 500MHz one for a bit, it was nice, but froze up a lot when I used more than a few programs, most likely due to the shortage of RAM.

wow that is a great deal if it comes with OSX. Otherwise don't. I'm not sure if it can run OSX but if u up the ram to ur 600mb it will probably run pretty good.

Can you dual channel ram on the ibook? I was planning on getting two 256mb sticks. They are pretty cheap actually would top out at maybe $100 for both.

yea def buy it, but offer a little less money, around 250 ish. and like everyone else said, OSx will be kinda slow unless you have around 512 mb ram. I have 512 in my new macbook, and its not too great. Programs open slow and such, i can only imagin how it would be with a slower processor.
