Hi guys, I currently have 8gb of ram in my sig rig and have just purchased an extra Corsair XMS3 2x4GB kit to use 4 modules taking me to 16gb but was sent instead some Corsair Vengeance (they look like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CML8GX3M2A1600C9-Vengeance-1600MHz-Memory/dp/B00569K7LM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1362136434&sr=8-3) instead by the seller. I can't really be bothered to send them back and get a replacement, would it be okay to mix the two in this case? I haven't overclocked my cpu (I will eventually, but need stability for uni work more than anything atm) and both kits have the same timings, its just the XMS3 are 1333MHz and the Vengeance are 1600MHz.

P.S - people saying I don't need 16GB, I constantly have around 30 tabs open the different essays I'm working on (I'm a masters of research student in philosophy), play music at the same time and have loads of pdf books open. I keep getting low memory warnings as I try to do too many stuff at once...

Cheers

shouldnt be a problem as long as the voltages match. the 1600 sticks will probably default to 1333 since they are the slowest RAM in your system.

Cheers, installed it and no problems. Things are ridiculously smoother, multitasking without things slowing up makes a much more pleasurable computing experience. Also did a cheeky OC from 3.2 to 3.5 as I was feeling adventurous...
