Found an excellent deal on a Linksys router
And I'm wondering if it's safe to buy it off a seller on Craigslist.

Any thing? I'm a little paranoid

Yes it's 100% safe to buy a used router. They can't be infected like a PC can, and with a firmware update it will be 100% patched once you bring it home and update it.

Just look for any cracks or signs of being dropped or mistreated. Other than that, you should be fine.

I wouldn't.

Router's tend to burn out after long use. Mainly because of the heat. However some are fine. If you are looking for an older one (linksys 54 series) for custom firmware options, you have better choices.

Usually nothing wrong with it. Say if it is suffering from overheating all i'd have to say is get a Laptop cooler and put the router on top of it and you should be fine.

The Routers are usually half price. And a Laptop Cooler is about 10 bucks.

Also they usually are tested.
