Is it worth keeping my current fan setup?

I've got 4 Delta AFB1212SHE fans, in push-pull with 20mm fan shrouds mounted on my 240 Black Ice Pro. These fans push ~150 cfm each at full speed, i'm not really sure how much that adds up too total. But they're really really loud. I really don't run them at full speed unless i'm gaming or benching.

I was wondering if how I run them most of the time at the lowest speed on my fan controller... would I be better off just getting some mid cfm, but still quiet fans, and running those at their full speed. Rather than undervolting my Deltas for normal use.

Is higher CFM even recommended for my radiator? I think I read somewhere that some radiators will perform better with low cfm fans than they do with high flow fans.

The BIP's cooling curve flattens out at around 90-100cfm. It will still cool a little better but after that point but the gain is minimal for the noise level. Its about like a Swifty rad, high cfm isn't needed with it, it has a few more fins per inch then a Swifty.

I don't know if I'd buy new fans since you already have those and run them on a controller, unless you just want to for some reason.
The only reason I would buy new fans would be if I were able to get the same CFM that I am right now with the undervolted Deltas, but with quieter fans...

Are they still pretty loud even under-volted? These Pana I've been told are pretty quiet.Pana 68.9CFM 30dBA ..I've not used them but several guys who hate noise told me those aren't bad at all. If they are quieter then the Deltas under-volted I would have no idea. I'd hate to see you get them and then there just as loud.

I like Delta's for the performance and quality but I cant stand that high pitched tone they have. Pana even the 115's I use have a real low pitched sound to me. Some guys think they are terribly loud to, sound is just so subjective, then if your rheo'ing them the quality of the trim pots has a lot to do with the tone to.

Hey I found that old BIP review with the cfm range for them.. Black Ice Pro Radiator Testing

I think I might just take the 2 fans I added on top over Christmas off... and possibly flip the fans on the inside of the case, so that it's pulling air in instead of out, that'd probably improve my temps alot, seeing as the ambient air in my case is alot hotter than outside

The noise isn't really a problem for me, I just have room mates, lol...

Yeah that should give you a couple more C. I always try to keep my whole rad out in the room ambient. I know thats not always practical though.

I'd just buy them some ear plugs..

Those panaflo's are really expensive.

If you want quiet, and still push some decent CFM, try medium speed Yate Loons.

I think they push close to 70cfm @ ~30dba and they're not expensive at all..

You can get 4 for 19.96 @ Petras...

Black Ice Pro has a relatively high fin per inch count, so yates aren't a great solution. Something with higher static pressure would work better, like the panaflo or these SAN ACES
