I downloaded MSE and the interface seems kinda basic,
and it didn't find anything ... Is it really as good as paying Antivirii?

Been using it for around a year, not had a single problem. Install and forget type of thing.

My last AV was AVG but it was getting more and more bloated with every release.

I cannot stress how good it is! I've installed it on the last 20 PC's I've built for customers and I've never had a problem ever before!

Fast. Light. Efficient.

Its a very nice program. Its very well supported, very resource efficient, and very well thought out.
Just because the interface is efficient does not mean its not everything its cracked up to be. Just look at google chrome, its VERY minimalist, but its arguably the best browser out today.

I have it. Really nice and doesn't even slow down my computer when it's scanning. Really nice first Anti-Virus program from Microsoft and also for the fact it's free.

Do you disable it during gaming?
No need. Unless you have no overhead in your system its such a light(not lite because everything lite sucks) program there is no reason to.

No.

ESET NOD32 Antivirus
Avast! Antivirus
Avira AntiVir Premium

All three outstanding paid AV software, though NOD32 gets my vote. (Virus scanner written in assembly? Hella fast in my experience)

A very good program from Microsoft. I have it installed on all my other setups, but for setup, I use NOD32.

^ These.

MSSE is the best anti-malware program out IMO. Great detection rate, very lightweight, stable, and easy to use.
