I have everything that i know of in CCC set to performance and both gpu cores running at 778/980 which is as high as CCC will let me go with them and my cpu is running at 4.4ghz @ 1.4v.

That is a perfectly normal score.

It just seemed low to me, i have seen people getting higher than that with close to my same setup and wondered if anything was off.
Wow that's 4k more then my setup.

But i want 30,000 dang it LMAO I wonder if i added another 4870 to it to make it trifire would get me there along with water cooling and a little higher clocks on the cpu?

Yeah, you'd probably need a third to break 30k. Also try OC'ing the 4870X2 with a different program to try to get the cores running over 800MHz.

like rivatuner?
Im sure you could break 28k on air w/ your current setup.

@ OC program I suggest msi afterburner
its awesome ^__^

WOW, msi afterburner's gui is freaking slick! Do i use this in conjunction with CCC? Like adjust the core, memory, voltage, and fan with afterburner and the 3d settings with CCC?
Cpu score is a bit on the low side, at 4.4 ghz my 17 920 consistently gets 8000 - 8400. Maybe try a bit tighter mem timings?
Just looked at your screenshot again, turn on ht your cpu score will go up.

what is the highest safe cpu volts to try while just doing 3dmark06 runs and keeping a VERY close eye on temps. at 1.4v the highest i have reached as far as temps during 3dmark06 is 61*C
You know thats a real good score, with my sig rig,i get a lil over 26000 in [email protected] also been trying to hit over 30000 and cannot do it.Ill prolly have to try to get my cpu to 4.4 like yours then I feel I can do it.Other than that you have a nice system and good scores,What do you get in vantage.

Haven't tried vantage yet.
for reference my buddy's got sli gtx 216's and at 4.1 he gets just under 26,000.

216's are marginally slower than 4870's so, yeah it does seem low.

Then my XFX HD4890XXX setup sucks too when it comes to 3D Mark 06. I have 26178 with CPU @ 4.1 GHz and cards 1000/1050. Those SLI-s are better then ...

Keep in mind guys if you have an i7 setup that you will get a massive cpu score boost by going to xp. For example 4.8+ ghz in vista/win7 is around an 8200ish cpu score with HT, while in xp is around 9k or so.

Maybe I should give it a shot on win xp... hmmm, but i won't be able to use all of my ram...

Actually they trade blows, partly right. I see the 260 ahead more often too.

Crank your CPU higher with HT on, that'll be the best way to raise the score, and go XP partition.

That seems low.

At 4.2, similar clocks on the X2 I know I'm at least 1500-2000 points higher.

When I get home tonight I'll rerun 06 with your exact clocks for comparison.

EDIT - Results on Page 4
