Is my Dell Dimmension commpatible with a GEFORCE FX5500/FX5200?

I'm looking to get a GeForce FX5200/FX5500 to play World Of Warcraft and i was wondering if my computer is compatible with it? I'm currently only using my onboard craphics card.

My systems specs are as follows:-
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1 (2600.xpsp1.020828-1920)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Dell Computer Corporation
System Model: Dimension 2400
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A05
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz (2 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
Memory: 766MB RAM

Do you guys think this will run World Of Wacraft and is the GCard commpatible?

Im sure those cards are AGP, so if u got a agp slot then ur fine if not make sure you purchase a pcie graphics card and if u can go the extra money for a 6600 get it. Those cards are not enough to power newer games but wow would work fine with them.

I wouldn't get either of those cards.. heard they're the about the worst series nvidia made, lol.

So I'd lookout for a diff card, maybe spend a few bucks more, but you'll get a way better performance for it..

At the moment i only have 256MB or RAM but i'm upgrading with another 512MB slot tommorow. I bought a GeForce 6200 a little while back but it lagged my PC when i put it in. Was that due to the amount of RAM i had at the time?

you need to contact Dell or take a look at your manual and find out what type of expansion slots your computer has. Some of the lower line Dells only have PCI slots.
if you have an AGP slot then you can basically get any AGP gfx card
if you have PCIe then you can get any PCIe card
but if you don't have either of those slots you're stuck w/ a PCI card.

that's what I thought... my roomate last year had a cheap Dell that didn't have an agp or pcie slot and he had to get a pci slot.... he was super pissed at Dell for not putting a graphics slot in... but I just told him... Dude, you got a dell... LOL! but seriously, you need to look at the specifications closely at all cheap pre-built computers. a lot of them don't have pcie or agp slots

welp then you need to get a PCI gfx card. there aren't any 'good' ones but some of them will be better than integrated

I did have a GeForce 6200 but i had to sell it as when i installed it on my comp my CPU usage shot up and my Computer was really laggy. Is their a specific amount of RAM you need to have in you're computer when you use that graphics card?

no... actually your cpu usage should go down when you use a real gfx card. there must have been something wrong.

update your bios and your chipset drivers... and when you get a new gfx card install the newest drivers not what comes on the disc
