Here's my CPU
-AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor

Here's my GPU
-XFX RADEON HD 5850 1 GB DDR5 PCI Express Card

Is the GPU going to be limited by the CPU? If so, what do you think I'll have to overclock the CPU to get my money's worth out of the GPU.

Your gpu may be slightly bottlenecked considering it's an athlon, but I doubt you will notice it. I've read a few threads that 5XXX series are bottlenecked even on higher end CPUs like the i7s at the moment so I wouldnt be too worried.

I wouldnt be suprised If your cpu can jump up to 3ghz or so with a bit of work

Whats your budget and other chosen parts?

I think it would be a bit smarter to pair that GPU with an X4 from the Phenom II line at least

If a i7 has some bottleneck, then how does a athlon only be getting a "slight" bottleneck?

Dont cheap out on the CPU, id say get a X3 720 BE if your on a budget (unlock the cores if your motherboard supports ACC) or the new 965 c3. For some reviewers, its very capable of getting past 4.0 GHZ
